There is something in the air. Something I haven't felt since 1990, when David Peterson acted arrogantly and was turfed. Canadians are slow to anger, but treat them with contempt and they will turn on you and for good.

Yes, the people have turned on Harper -- prorogation was a bridge too far, illustrative of an attitude that doesn't play well in a representative liberal democracy.
But no, it isn't necessarily for good -- it happened to Trudeau in 1972 and 1979.
People are forgiving. Pay your penance, admit your faults, and they let you back in the game. (See Bill Clinton in Arkansas in 1980 and 1982.)
