Star To Greens: Go Away

Green supporters should get used to this. The Liberal house organ wants you to just f-off and die. Don't you understand that the Liberal party is the best one to defend your interests? After all they did so much while they were in government, right? Welcome to the big leagues guys. You have now become 'bothersome' to the powers that be.

Update: Of course, it would help if the Greens had a leader who didn't agree with the Star.

More Bullshit From The Toronto Star

A healthy parliamentary democracy thrives when there are strong opposition parties. It is unfortunate then to see the Ontario NDP so diminished.

Too bad the fucks at the Toronto Star worked so tirelessly against electoral reform, isn't it Rob? Where do you think the impulse to "vote strategically" comes from? Don't you love it when the establishment tut tuts about the state of democracy, when they work so hard to minimize it?

The Star Endorses PR (Sort Of)

At least the Star endorses enlarging the House of Commons according to the proportion of the population for each province. While I am happy the Star has come out in favor of a bigger House, I will be watching them very carefully in the coming months as we run up to the referendum on electoral reform, in Ontario. The proposed Ontario reform would see an expansion of Ontario MMP's to a level almost identical to the one the Star proposes for Ontario's share of the House of Commons. I will be very quick to point this out to the good people at the Star, should they trot out the "too many politicians" argument, in the future.
