I probably should have planned my trip to the Fan Expo before last night. Still, had a great time in T.O. today with my sons.

Sunday Update: It sounds like Dan had a similar experience, but he, at least, got in. Ours wasn't a totally wasted trip, I introduced my younger son to the joys of Bakka Phoenix Books (number one son has been before). He came away with a really nice Phillip K. Dick collection.

BSG Fix

To "lighten" the mood. For Dan, who told me he would never watch last week's episode of BSG again, a tidbit from Ron Moore:

My attitude was pretty much, “Look, we’re in the last chapter here. Anyone who’s come this far and doesn’t want to watch the rest -- they’re a minority at best.” People are going to want to see how this turns out. And yeah, this is a very dark chapter. This may not even be the darkest chapter.

Oh and who nuked the Earth? I predict it was BSG.

Update: Just to be clear. Dan still loves the show, but the darkness of last week's episode was soul ripping.

News About Spin (The Good Kind Not The Political Kind)

Oh boy, this is great news. My favorite science fiction writer (and the best writer of the genre Canada has ever produced), Robert Charles Wilson, has finally hit the super big time. His book, Spin, in which the Earth is wrapped in a time altering membrane by a mysterious alien race, for mysterious alien reasons, is being turned into a movie. I am so happy that one of Wilson's works is getting this treatment. It will hopefully expand his readership beyond geeks like me. If anyone deserves this success, it is RCW.
