Dear Iggy

You are not making it easy for me to vote for your party. You are not my first choice as PM. But, I am seriously considering voting for your party because a vote for your party in my riding might just deprive Harper of a seat. However, the more you talk down to people like me, call us "boy scouts" because we disagree with your stupid policy stance on Afghanistan, the harder it will be for me to continue with my plan to vote strategically. As a kindness to me, knock it off. The more you remind people like me how insufferable you are and how little difference there is between you and Mr. Harper, the more I am tempted to say screw it and vote for my preferred choice. Thanks for your time.

Hey Here Is A Surprise

Iggy is going to spend his summer telling rural Canada he is just as blue as Stephen Harper. Of course Liberal progressives will eat it up with a spoon.

The Deal Has Another Review

This one from a Liberal-friendly paper:
Four years after Colvin began telling his superiors what they didn’t want to hear, the cover-up is complete. Conservatives can now be confident that Canadians won’t learn much more than they already know and that civil servants will think at least twice before speaking tiresome truths to powe
Talk of NDP/Liberal mergers sounds even more ridiculous today than it did yesterday. The Liberal hierarchy has found its true parliamentary partner and it isn't the NDP.

Back To Square One

Well, I see Iggy has fallen into Harper's trap. Having ruled out a coalition with anyone, Iggy has essentially said, "To Hell with a multi-party parliament. To Hell with parliamentary democracy. The next election will be a two party election, regardless the number of parties running." Well, fuck you Iggy. If you had said, as you should have, that while you would prefer a majority, you would accept whatever reality exists after the next election and work with the House as it is constituted", I might have voted Liberal, just to defeat my Conservative MP. Now, fuck that. I certainly won't be voting for a party lead by a wiener like you. Neither of the two big parties are lead by men who have even the slightest nodding acquaintance either with our parliamentary democracy or reality. What a choice for Canadians if Iggy's dreams come true. On the one hand we would have a Bush sympathizer, who wants to bring two party politics to Canada and on the other we have Harper. God save Canada.

Iggy: The Trudeau Of The Master Class

Ignatieff is more conservative and more open to nationalism
That is a statement of the blindingly obvious by the Globe, this morning when comparing Iggy to Trudeau. Trudeau, for all his faults (and God knows he had thousands, the biggest of which was a complete indifference to the economy) was at heart, a liberal reformer. Iggy, on the other hand, will be a reliable defender of the big banks and big oil. Iggy has never met a status he didn't want quo.
