The Ontario numbers aren't where I think the province is at.
But every time the Conservatives table a budget, their numbers go up to 40% for a week or two before they head back down to 2006 election results territory.
We've seen this many times. (Well, two times plus the fiscal update last fall.)
The numbers since the last election have, on average, had the Conservatives about five points up on the Liberals -- a deficit easily overtaken on the campaign trail, or just as easily pushed up to the 12-14% needed for a majority, depending on the policies and personalities involved.
If the opposition wants an election, they should go for it.
