The co-leader of the Green Party of New Zealand, Jeanette Fitzsimons, is coming to Ontario on a speaking tour about MMP. I will post more info as soon as I know something.
Update: I have one date. She will be in Ottawa on Sept. 28 at 7:00 pm. The event will be held at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, at the intersection with Cunningham Avenue.

ReplyDeleteInterestingly, I attended a (poorly attended) info session on the referendum tonight here at UW. It was organized by the Kitchener-Waterloo section of Fair Vote Canada, and an Ontarian now living in New Zealand (who was involved in the electoral reform coalition there) came to speak. Two members of the Citizens' Assembly were there as well.
ReplyDeleteSadly, most of the people in the hall were lining up to go the bar, though there was decent attendance for a poorly publicized event.
That being said, I'm appalled at the lack of publicity in general about this referendum, not just by Elections Ontario but by the media too.
