Observation Of The Day

For a guy who says he doesn't want an election, our Prime Minster sure does mention it a lot, as he travels the country, handing out checks.

  1. This is also the guy who wrote his Master's thesis on the economic implications of political promises. His argument was that prime minister's often distort the market for political gain by giving out money or making financial promises to key ridings to improve their standing before they call an election. In essence, it's using asymmetrical information to bolster political fortunes at the expense of the market.

Looks like Harper learned something from his MA in Economics after all...

  2. What amazes me is how much his core constituency is willing to take from him(in terms of spending like a drunken sailor in Rotterdam) and still think he is God's gift to politics.

Harper gets a pass from Tory grassroots while he has a minority. If he gets a majority and doesn't mend his ways, that's when he'll have some 'splaining to do.
