My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world. Jack Layton
I've never seen the corporate media go after an opposition party (especially one facing a majority government) as fast as they're going after the NDP. I hope Layton has a plan to neuter these bastards.
The problem is that it won't only be the corporate press. The Conservatives will now focus their millions in buying power on Smilin' Jack attacks. Dion was not a leader. Iggy was not Canadian or patriotic. Wonder what Jack will be - deviant massagee?
To hell with the corporate media. They are not there for the people. The CBC are hardly there for the people anymore. It is up to social media now. It's popularity is on the rise. The problem is, all the dinosaurs (and there is a lot of them) that voted for the Cons, hardly pay attention to social media. We have to get the older people using social media. It is our only hope.
By all means keep an eye on the corporate press behind ya. Just make sure you have a plan to sidestep the truck of disenchanted Quebec voters when they find out that the Bloc did a little punking in the days before the election. Some buyers remorse may just rear its head in the next few weeks. You can avoid it if you can massage the message. And you will need corporate media to help.

ReplyDeleteStill haven't made up my mind about Jack, but on principle I think it's up to the progressive blogosphere to kneecap the corporate media.

ReplyDeleteYou're playing in the big leagues, now, Greg.
ReplyDeleteGet used to it. And be ready.
