Danielle Smith Goes After The Cheney Republican Vote
How right wing do you have to be to utter the following sentence? Danielle Smith of the Wildrose Alliance says Albertans want a conservative government because:

They've turned back a proposal advocating the right to bear arms, but have also endorsed a proposal for an Albertan constitution--which, for all anyone knows, could make it mandatory to bear arms.

This is excellent news, and I'm not snarking. The right wing in the US is committing suicide by constantly fissioning into crazier and crazier fragments. They've already blown the Republicans' chances of taking the senate seat in Nevada, for instance, by forcing the nomination of someone who's all but clinically insane to run against Harry Reid. With luck, they'll screw up two or three other otherwise-sure pickups. Since the left / center / center-right can't get it together in this country, the only way back to sanity and representative government is to bust up the solid bloc of the Right. It can't happen too soon.
